Chargers Baseball

I've been meaning to post some baseball pictures from this season, and am just now getting around to it. We have had a very busy Spring!

Dakota has been playing great, despite a few injuries along the way...the guys all tease him about being old (even though he's no more than a few years older than the youngest) all jokes aside though, he has admitted that playing baseball at 23 is a whole lot different than playing at 19!

He plays outfield and pinch hits most game days, and when he's not doing that, he coaches at 1st base and cheers his team on.

ClaireBell and I have enjoyed being a part :) We have made a few new, dear friends and are cherishing this time in our lives. time on the field.
college baseball. there's not much else like it.

Go Chargers!!!

for my very best friend and the love of my life.....

there is so much I could and want to say to you about how much I love you, how you make me a better woman, and how much I LOVE being your wife, your helper and your best friend

I can't believe we've spent a year together now! in some ways it seems like yesterday, in others, I can't imagine living my life any differently

you gave me a card many years ago during a tough time in our lives and our relationship and it meant so much to me....I could only pray it would someday become reality.

and here we are, 5+ years later! I love you, Dakota! Happy Anniversary! (5 days late ;)

here is what the card said:

"All I want is to love you for the rest of my life...
to wake up every morning with you by my side,
knowing that no matter what happens,
I'll be able to come home to your loving arms.

All I want is to share everything with you...
to talk to you about our ideas, our dreams,
the little everyday things that make us laugh,
and the not-so-little things
that we can't help worrying about.

All I want is to give you my love...
as a place you can always come to for acceptance
or the simple comfort that silence brings
when things left unspoken can still be understood.

All I want is to grow old with you...
to watch our life unfold,
our dreams, one by one, come true.

All I want is to love you forever."

Not only do I love you for all the mushy gushy reasons....

I love you because you are a nut! You make me laugh every day!

your smile and your laugh make everything better...
even when I don't want to admit it

I also love you because you are the best daddy a little girl could ask for!
you love our little Clairsy more than anything in the world (except for me, of course!)
and that is so special for me

I love doing this whole, crazy, college thing with you!
as tough as it is some most of the time, I'm so glad we are here.

I also love that you love baseball...
its been something very dear to your heart for such a long time
and it has become special to me too.

I love spending time at the field watching you play, knowing you are loving every second of it! and Clairsy loves it too! #17, Kota/daddy! we're always rootin' for ya!

somehow, this ended up being the only picture I took on our anniversary....haha
oh well, not one together, but a picture of my two favorite people is good enough :)

happy anniversary, luv. I can't wait for a lifetime of anniversary's to come!

girlie girl

1. you wear high-heels on a daily basis

2. as long as their cute, you wear them....regardless of whether they hurt your feet or are even a size or two off.

3. you just can't resist smelling flowers

4. you have a rose petal cottage set and a disney pricesses tent ;)

5. you like gymnastics and ballet
(i missed the one leg in the air shot, but she was certainly testing her skills)

6. you wear bows and have a baby doll

7. you include your baby in all your playtime, making sure she is comfortable, and having a good time.

8. you love snuggling with your daddy :)

I love my little girlie girl! I don't have pictures of these, but she has also on many occasions put her own makeup on, starred at herself in front of the mirror, and my favorite, crossing the legs while talking on the phone! :)

I love to watch her copy me when I get ready. I think its amazing to see how even when they are young, God is already molding them into little wives and mommies.

Do something "girly" with your girls today!

Catching up

Don't you just love productive days? The house is cleaned, dishes done, laundry folded and put away, baby is taking a nap, I've rearranged my entire living room and still managed to have time to blog! :) Thank you, Jesus for the patience and energy to be productive today.

Well, I have been a slacker since the Fall in keeping you all up to date on our happenings...so I hope to catch up here in the next week.

We will start with some pictures of our "snow in!!"

We were so happy to have my mom and sisters in Atlanta with us during the snow storm! The girls had so much fun playing in the fluffy white snow, 4 in. deep and still falling!

Our first Christmas together was a white one :) That's gotta be a good sign, right?!

We bundled up the girls as best we could with our Beaufort winter clothing....which in no way compares to real winter clothing.

As this was our first winter in GA, we were curious whether snow in Dec/Jan was an annual occurance, or just a sweet blessing for the holidays. We asked fellow college students, friends, locals....everyone had a different story! from: "I've lived here my whole life and I've never seen snow," to: "ah, everyone freaks out every year when this happens, but we all know its coming again next year."

Whatever the real story is, we played, ran, shouted, snow-angeled, tasted, and photographed the memories of our GA Christmas and New Years.

Mom joined in the fun too while I stayed inside to watch little Hannah and ClaireBell.

We were "snowed in" (meaning, we pretty much couldn't leave the parking lot) for 4 days. They continued to pospone the starting of classes as each day showed no hope of melting snow. I know Dakota, and many other students had no complaints about that ;)

He looks so tall next to the girls!

We didn't bring the little ones out too much in the frigid air, but couldn't resist at least a few pictures!

Dakota, who is a big fan of "ice chomping" as I like to call it, has trained this little girl to love it too! Any time he has a glass with ice in it, she comes running to his side pointing to her mouth and letting her tongue fall out.

Of course, the sight of our driveway and yard covered in ice was thrilling to her! Besides the places where we walked, it was untouched and beautiful...and she joyfully endulged.

I can't believe it has already been two months since then. The weather has warmed up tremendously and we are looking forward to Spring next!

Happy Tuesday, readers!
